Restylane is a hyaluronic gel dermal filler that decreases a variety of lines and wrinkles, including:
How Restylane Works
Restylane is made up of high molecular weight cross-linked hyaluronic acid, a substance your body already produces to glue your cells together. The problem is that during the aging process, the body stops producing as much of this substance.
Restylane replaces some of the hyaluronic acid, restoring volume and decreasing lines and wrinkles in the process.
Restylane is non-animal-based and has been used for more than ten years in 65 countries. Since hyaluronic acid is a natural substance, no allergy testing is needed for Restylane injections.
Your Restylane Treatment
A topical anesthetic, as well as Lidocaine in syringe itself, can help to make the injections more comfortable for you. Depending on the number of areas you wish to treat, your Restylane injectable treatment will take only 15-30 minutes. Please allow an hour for your office visit.
After Your Restylane Injections
Restylane facial filler lasts for 4-12 months. Two treatments can prolong the results tor as long as 1-1/2 years.
You can return to most all activities immediately, except we’ll ask you to avoid touching the treatment areas for six hours. After that, you can wash your face gently with soap and water. You will also be asked to avoid exercise for 48 hours.
As with most dermal fillers, you may experience some minor inflammation, tenderness, and bruising, but this should go away within a few days. You can prevent inflammation by using an extra pillow for the first couple of nights to elevate your head slightly. Cold compresses can also help if you experience any swelling around the injection areas.
